Alright @Ryan, here ya go:
I generally like RPGs and am a really big Legend of Zelda fan. I have a DSi (the less-popular DS that came after the Lite but before the 3DS) and, when I’m in my groove, relentlessly cycle through all of the games I’ve ever purchased, most of which are Final Fantasy games.
In terms of consoles, I’m more of a PlayStation fan (I have a PS3, though, not a PS4). Favorite games on there have probably been Shadow of Colossus (got the remastered edition that was paired with Ico), GTA V, and Heavy Rain (I really like Quantic Dream as a company) probably. Oh. And I’ve played a handful of Assassin’s Creed games, but not all of them. Among what I’ve played, my favorite is probably Black Flag…?
When it comes to PC games, I’ve recently started playing Divinity: Original Sin (Enhanced Edition). I play a good bit of League of Legends, but that’s pretty much the only MOBA I play.
Really trying not to list out, like, every game I’ve ever played, so I’ll just say this:
I like games with good storylines and can really appreciate when creators put time into developing a game’s atmosphere (a prime example being Dark Souls). I also like Touhou, even though it’s hard and I’m bad at it – mostly for the community, which I’ve talked about in the Music Discovery Thread. It’s probably the only game I know of that has a legitimately wonderful fanbase.
I grew up on the N64, PS2, and Gamecube, keeping in mind that I didn’t discover video games until I was like 9 or 10. My childhood favorites were Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 and Dark Cloud 2, which I’ve since learned was not a very popular game, but it was so special to me back then.
Ah, man. I miss the days before I knew about salty online fanbases.
God, that was so long. Apologies!
