Hey! I've seen A Tribe Called Red live, they're amazing!
If you like that, check out Tanya Tagaq. I saw her live last Sept. This track is great but it doesn't really do justice to her live performance.
Absolutely go see her if you get the chance.
Something smooth for your afternoon. NSFW lyrics.
Legit dream come true:
(Sorry for nsfw word in the tweet!)
Glorious. Is there a full-length version?
@Sheena That was awesome!
Musical theater <3
If you ever want to get overloaded on sultriness.
@Tom love that!
My (possibly repeat) track today is Calum Scott v Tiesto
Wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did, and early on, I almost gave up on it. Then the more I listened, I got sort of an early Beck vibe that I was really digging.
Also, that costume though.
Time for some classic new wave... XTC isn't the greatest band in the world. Their music is too arch to take in large doses and their lyrics too clever by half... but they just might be the smartest band in rock.
Some more Kiwi magic
Broods - Heartlines
This doesn't really count, but the world needs more of this:
I was listening and thinking "this has a Lorde influence" then I googled it and saw she co-wrote it. My other thought was "statelines? surely NZ is too small for states?" My instincts haven't failed me yet
Here's another sweet piece of Kiwi ear candy. I'm warning the rest of you, if haven't heard this yet it'll be stuck in your head for days.
Broods live in America I think and really are mostly for an overseas market
Murs hitting right in the feelbox. NSFW but worth your time.
This might be old news to people now, but the darling of the acid jazz world is back: Jamiroquai is releasing new material. I dig this jam hard
This is awesome. If you just wanna see him play, skip to 11 mins, but watching him find the right trees and make it and paint it is really interesting.
So geeky and hilarious
